Anthropic Files for Blockbuster IPO | OpenAI Says AI Proved Three Landmark Results | Akamai Launches AI Inference and Agent Sandbox

1. Anthropic Files for Blockbuster IPO

Anthropic unveiled its IPO paperwork on Monday, opening its books ahead of its stock-market debut. The Claude maker reported revenue of about $16.3 billion in the first half of 2026, up from $4.59 billion in all of 2025, with an operating loss of $693 million for the half. The filing also disclosed a month-long pause in training a new flagship model over security concerns, a reminder that safety setbacks can stall a frontrunner’s roadmap.

2. OpenAI Says AI Proved Three Landmark Results

OpenAI said on Monday that its internal models produced three research results: a proof of the local smoothing conjecture in every dimension, a disproof of the Exponential Time Hypothesis in computer science, and an existence proof for certain four-dimensional quantum field theories, including quantum chromodynamics. The math and computer-science results carry Lean formalizations, and outside experts will examine the claims. OpenAI calls the manuscripts raw research data, not finished science, and seeks no academic credit.

3. Akamai Launches AI Inference and Agent Sandbox

Akamai introduced two products on Tuesday: Akamai Inference, a service for serving open-weight or custom models, and Akamai Agent Sandbox, an isolated environment for running AI agents. The pitch is aimed at enterprises moving agents into production, which need serving infrastructure plus a hard boundary around code agents write and execute. Akamai says its cloud has secured multiyear AI contracts worth over $14 billion, spanning more than 4,350 edge locations.
